Hi, folks! This is my first post, and please, forgive me for just now writing, but I am after all only 11 days old. As you can tell by the name of my site, my name is Nate Thornton. I was born at 4:41 am on March 20, 2009, the first day of Spring. My full name is Nathaniel Reed Thornton, with great meaning: Nathaniel means “Gift from God;” and Reed, a nod to my godmother, also means “Ruddy.” As you can tell from my pictures, I am both of these things.
Me, chillin’ in my swing:
From waaay back (ancient history) when I was in the hospital:
I’m starting to think Dad’s a member of the Paparazzi:
Fist up for my peeps:
Who am I, really though? Well, my Mom thinks I’m strong, and my Dad thinks I’m brilliant. OK, I admit it I am both of those things… and so much more! I hope to show you more of who I am and all of my interests in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Until then, adieu, and enjoy!
Regards, Nate

I am so glad you are out now! Did you know I am coming to see you! I think both of your parents are right as you must be strong and brilliant with your parents. Hey, did you know that your initials are special? The N is for Neal and the R is for Roberta and the T is for Thornton (of course). It is wonderful to know that you became a part of us without trying too hard; in fact it was a fluke. I look forward to meeting you but for now I rely on your folks to send me the straight skinny on you. You are pretty special to me already and will be as long as God lets me stay around!

Dear Nate,
Welcome to the family and to the world. We have been waiting for you for a long time. You represent the completion of a circle of family and we know you will occupy your place well.
You have been born to 2 wonderful, intelligent and highly devoted parents. Always remember that you are loved and I know you will always do the things that make them proud. Remember that honor is the virtue that upholds reputation and it is important.
I wish you the courage of a hero, the heart of a patriot and the faith of a Saint. May God go with you all your days and may His blessing rest on you, now and forever!

I am so proud to finally meet (even if it is just over pictures and listening to you coo on the phone!) the little boy that I have been praying for over the past year!! You are so precious to so many people and I am so proud to have you join our ever-growing family!
Please ask your mommy & daddy to keep the pictures updated because we all want to see you grow, develop and change!
Love to you, your Mommy and Daddy and Mama D

Nate,
We are sooooooooooo glad you are finally here,
and can’t wait to meet you in person. I think
you look like your mom, but when you grow up,
I bet they will say you look like “Nate”—–and
you’ll be your own special person!!
We love you already and want more family
pictures! Love, Aunt Ann (well, ok, I guess I’m
really your “Great Aunt”)

Welcome to our Thornton world, Nate. Boy, I thought you’d never get here. Your mom said she believed you liked your little nest, and she wanted you to rest as long as you could. You are expected to be very intelligent, loving and be very proud of your heritage. Papa Thornton and I are planning to come see you soon. We can hardly wait to meet you and admire you as the newest model of a long line of Thorntons. Be a good boy and stay strong and healthy. Love, Mammaw and Papa Thornton

Aloha Nate!
I hope you enjoy this wonderful experience with mom & dad. Can’t wait to meet you someday and for you to meet Penelope (Penny). Maybe once we get back to the mainland we can all get together. Congrats Mom & Dad! You will love being parents:)
